Overview:
PSCC Contracting Company is seeking an experienced Cost Control Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our dynamic team of professionals. As a Cost Control Engineer at PSCC, you will play a key role in the financial management of our construction projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, excellent analytical skills, and an in-depth understanding of construction cost management practices.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other project stakeholders to develop detailed project budgets and cost estimates.
- Continuously monitor project costs and progress, comparing actual performance with planned performance, and identify variances.
- Prepare regular cost reports, forecasts, and financial analyses for management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Implement cost control procedures and recommend corrective actions to address cost overruns, inefficiencies, or other financial issues.
- Coordinate with procurement and contract teams to ensure the accurate tracking and reporting of project costs, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
- Assist in the preparation of change orders, claims, and other project-related financial documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and provide financial updates and recommendations to project stakeholders.
- Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and relevant regulations to ensure adherence to professional standards and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost control or financial management, preferably in the engineering and construction sectors.
- Strong understanding of engineering and construction industry trends, roles, and cost management practices.
- Proficient in project management and financial software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
